Bharti Airtel, India’s leading telecom operator today announced the launch of wholesale data services for the Middle East on its Connect network, to serve global carriers in the region. The Bharti Airtel is only outside operator with capacities on multiple cable routes in the region, Which offers the unique advantage of at least 3 multiple paths on every cable route.

Over the last two quarters, Bharti has added over 17 GBPS capacity to the region and has made investments that connect the India-Middle East-Europe route via three alternative paths on SEA-ME-WE 4, I-ME-WE and EIG. These paths will provide the much needed diversity and capacity to the region.

According to Mr. Rajan Swaroop, Executive Director, Enterprise Services, Bharti Airtel, “The launch of our global wholesale services for theMiddle East is a significant step in our journey of becoming a global network solutions provider. We operate on a multiple partnership model ranging from simple interconnects to joint development of new products. TheMiddle East is home to some of the biggest economies and represents one of the most dynamic wholesale markets today. Bharti Airtel’s strengths in this business have always been flexibility and innovation in developing solutions for global wholesale, which we believe will create winning propositions for our customers.”

Bharti Airtel’s international infrastructure includes ownership of the i2i submarine cable system, consortium ownership of the SMW4 submarine cable system and investment in a number of diverse submarine cable systems across transatlantic and transpacific routes. Each of its routes- India-ME-Europe, Atlantic, India-Singapore, Singapore-Japan and Japan-US offer customers’ three alternate paths that address dual needs of expansion and diversity. Bharti Airtel has also built terrestrial express connectivity to countries in the SAARC region, such as Nepal and Bhutan. The initiative enables enterprises in land locked countries like Bhutan, Nepal, to reach out to the world, by accessing Bharti’s cable assets through its International cable landing stations in Chennai and Mumbai.

Rambler Socket tucks a recoiling extension cable, pinch of genius within your AC outlet :-

Posted by Navneet Bhaskar on Saturday 26 December 2009 , under | comments (0)

Meysam Movahedi's latest concept certainly isn't the first revolutionary tweak to the tried-and-true power outlet, but it's easily one of our favorites. Put simply, the Rambler Socket is an in-wall box that contains 1.5 meters of extra cabling along with a traditional AC outlet. Granted, you'll need a pretty deep wall to make something like this work (in theory, of course), but the result is nothing short of brilliant. If your AC cord is long enough, you simply plug it into the socket per usual; if you need a little extra length, the built-in extension cord pulls out with a gentle tug. Once you're done, you simply tug on the cable once more and watch as it recoils back within the wall.

Block Ads in Google Chrome with AdthwartFirefox might be the coolest browser considering the amount of extensions it supports that give its additional capabilities, but we have a new kid in town. Google Chrome is setting eyes on becoming the best browser and with the launch of the Chrome Extension Gallery we can affirm their bet. One of the coolest extension we dearly missed out while Chrome was in its dev stage was Adblock Plus, but the wait is over.

Adthwart is a Google Chrome Extension that blocks intrusive ads using EasyList filter. Using some of the code from Adblock Plus it manages to do well consideringChrome extensions coding is still limited in functionality. Just head over to Adthwarts extension page and install it, ads in Chrome will be history now.

Firefox browser for mobile phones 'to be launched soon':-

Web browser Firefox could be in your mobile phone within days, according to a news report.

The popular internet browser will first be available for Nokia's N900 phone and then other handsets will follow, the BBC said.

According to the report, the company is carrying out the final tests and the browser could potentially be released by the end of the year.

"At the end of the working day you can walk away from your computer and keep on going on your phone," Jay Sullivan at Mozilla, the group behind Firefox, told the BBC. "It encrypts all of the information and sends it back through the cloud between your desktop and mobile."

Mozilla is also developing versions for Microsoft's Windows mobile and Google's Android operating system, the BBC report added. Mr Sullivan said, however, that iPhone users will have to wait for some time before the browser becomes available on their handheld devices.
